Reid Hoffman, a prominent Democrat donor and associate of the late Jeffrey Epstein, has been linked to funding organizations tied to violent protests at Tesla dealerships, according to an investigation by Loomer Unleashed.
Reid Hoffman donated to the Hopewell Fund, which provides financial support to the Sixteen Thirty Fund. The Sixteen Thirty Fund then gave $500,000 to Sunrise PAC, an organization associated with the Sunrise Movement. The Sunrise Movement played a key role in organizing protests at Tesla dealerships that turned violent in New York City.

Prior to Loomer Unleashed’s reporting, Hoffman took to X to deny funding the protests, stating, “Just one more of Elon’s false claims about me: I never funded anyone for Tesla protests. I don’t condone violence. But it’s clear Americans are angry at him – it’s easier to explain away their anger, than to accept that actions have consequences.” However, Elon Musk reposted a reply from Laura Loomer asserting that Hoffman was lying and that she had evidence to prove it.

Hoffman is not the only major Democratic donor linked to the Sixteen Thirty Fund. Records from the Soros Open Society Foundation indicate that the fund received 66 grants from the organization, which is primarily operated by George and Alex Soros.

Last weekend, the Sunrise Movement collaborated with Planet Over Profit and the Hack Club to orchestrate protests at a Tesla store in New York City’s Meatpacking District, resulting in vandalism at the location. The Hack Club, a global, student-led nonprofit network of high school coding clubs, received a $4 million donation from the Musk Foundation in 2023, according to the foundation’s Form 990 filing. The Sunrise Movement and its allies utilized ActionNetwork.org to mobilize their protest efforts.
During a protest strategy meeting call on Monday night, Sunrise Movement activists encouraged individuals over the age of 35 to join Indivisible, an organization that staged an anti-Trump protest at the United States Capitol on Monday. Indivisible also endorsed and financially supported Kamala Harris during the 2024 election. Part of Indivisible’s endorsement of Kamala Harris reads, “Everything we care about is on the ballot this November. We can and will use our people power to win: to elect Kamala Harris, expand our majorities, and reclaim our rights and democracy.”
While elected Democrats maintain that their anti-Trump protests will be peaceful, the involvement of influential Democratic donors like Hoffman and Soros in funding movements responsible for organizing protests that have ended in violence raises serious questions about the credibility of these claims.
